After the seafood lunch, we head on to Yongduam Rock, one of the major tourist attractions situated to the north of Jeju city.

Yongduam was created by winds and waves over years.
Plenty of legends on its formation among Jeju islanders.

Long long ago, a dragon stole away precious jade from Mount Hallasan while ascending to Heaven. It has then angered the mountain deity and has shot down by an arrow. Upon falling down, the body sunk into the ocean while its head rapidly froze looking up at the sky.

Clear ocean as far as eyes can see

An old lady resting her mind

Mermaid of Jeju Island
Symbolization of women divers (haenyeo, literally means sea women) in the island as they can sink into deep water for very long period, searching for seaweeds, urchin, and abalone without the aid of oxygen tank.
Due to time constraint, I did not see these wonder women in real action.

Gods offering protection and fertility.More explanation on next post.

South Korea... My next destination.. Any recommended food? or places to get souvenirs?
Food: Samgyetang (Ginseng Chicken Soup), Kimchi (their kimchi is much nicer compared to local one), Street food, dumplings, their side dishes also quite nice. Try Insadong for souveniors :)
I'm not an expert when it comes to this. Didn't even know this was possible. Useful read, appreciate your posting this.
